We're Kim and Vimal, a couple who followed the traditional path: college, master's degrees, meeting on Tinder, buying a house, settling down in Austin, and growing our family with three spritely daughters.

For over 14 years, we lived the 9-to-5 grind: little sleep, long commutes, stressful work, and questionable daycares for our kids. Then came a sobering realization: we still had 30 years until the retirement age of 65. That's when we decided to change our life's trajectory, refocusing on what truly matters to us: freedom, flexibility, and family.

Our journey led us to discover the Financial Independence Retire Early (FIRE) movement as the key to unlocking our dreams. We crafted a plan, committed wholeheartedly, and achieved FI in just 8 years—rebelling against the traditional way of life. Now, we have the freedom to choose if, when, and how we work. For now, we chose to retire early with our kids, so most of our time is spent exploring the world with our daughters, friends, and relatives—creating lasting memories.

Over the years, we've fielded many questions about the 'why' and 'how' of our journey. That's what inspired us to create this website—to share our story, our 'why', our strategies, and our insights with others who dream of retiring early.
